Police bosses fight to keep lion share
The Uganda Police Force has protested attempts by the Ministry of Finance to cut its budget for the 2021/22 financial year. The Police budget is expected to reduce from 1.043 trillion shillings to 916 billion, a reduction MPs on the Parliament Defense and Internal Affairs Committee attribute to the end of the electoral season. However, Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola says such budget cuts will disable the police from clearing outstanding arears totaling to 82 billion.
