Officials meet to de-escalate tensions on Juba highway
Truck drivers transporting merchandise to South Sudan have refused to return to work even as the Juba government promises to provide security escorts. The truckers want the matter of security handled at the level of the East African Community by heads of state. This as security officials from Uganda and Sudan met at Elegu border days after 15 people, most of them truck drivers were killed in various ambushes in the neighbouring country.
