Kyambogo University students protest over surcharge on late tuition payments
The police are holding seven Kyambogo University students, arrested on charges of engaging in an unlawful assembly. This follows a protest by university students over the imposition of a 50,000 shilling surcharge for late tuition payment. This is in addition to the government’s failure to remit the allowances of government-sponsored students on time.
