Judges agree on tough penalties for sureties
Judges are urged to always remind sureties of their responsibilities in presenting themselves to court to stand bail for accused persons. According to Justice Faisal Mulalira, the Deputy registrar of the Civil Division Court, sureties have the right to know their responsibilities and the consequences should they fail to meet them. This call came during a judges' meeting in Kampala today to discuss issues in the judiciary sector.
