Dev’t partners concerned about shrinking forest cover
Environment experts and development partners say Uganda’s rapidly shrinking forest cover is cause for worry. Uganda Bureau of Statistics numbers show that the forest cover has shrunk from 24% in 1990 to 8.9% in 2020. The National Forest Authority has teamed up with United Nations Development Fund for computerized system to monitor all forests in the country as they combat the looming environmental crisis.
