Busia residents express mixed feelings on Uganda - Kenya border closure
Residents along the Busia border have expressed mixed reactions after Kenya closed all the porous border routes in Busia. The decision was intended to end smuggling, which was causing huge revenue losses through smuggling activities or human trafficking. Kenya is now encouraging the use of the gazetted border points for both entry and exit across the two borders hence causing congestion along these points.
