Lawyers skeptical about EC conducting another Kawempe by-election
Legal brains in the country have expressed skepticism about the possibility of the electoral commission conducting a by-election in Kawempe North before January 2026.
This comes a day after the High Court ruling nullified Elias Nalukoola's election as the area’s representative, nearly two months after he was declared the winner of the hotly contested polls
The lawyer says, given the time left to the January 14 general elections, the worst-case scenario is for Kawempe North residents to go without representation, in case the appeal is dismissed.
