State of the nation address hits and misses | ON THE SPOT
The State of the Nation wasn’t hard to discern before Wednesday; rising inflation on goods and fuel, a harder economy to live in and a buoyant government. While many decried the sharp rise in fuel and commodity prices, the president took the chance to explain that there were no quick solutions, relying on quiet diplomacy to ease the global supply problems and growing local production. On The Spot talks to two seasoned governance experts; Godber Tumushabe and Sarah Bireete about the President’s address and what short-term solutions he could have offered.
