RAILWAY TRANSPORT: Corporation to grow cargo haulage
Passenger transport services by the Uganda Railways Corporation will resume next weekend, after nearly 7 months of no activity owing to the earlier restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stanley Sendegeya, URC's new Managing Director says with a previous volume of 50,000 rail passengers on a monthly basis, the Corporation is now set to improve its cash flows. He says immediate rehabilitation of locomotives and 4 new sets, cargo-hauling via rail in and out of the country whose target is at 60,000 Metric Tons from 20,000 MT will be achieved
