Universities urged to champion innovation
Professor Edward Rugumayo has been installed as chancellor of Mountains of the Moon in Fort Portal, following his appointment by President Museveni. Prof Rugumayo will serve for a four year term. Representing the president at the function Vice President Jesca Alupo called on graduates to put the knowledge and skills acquired into practice to break the circle of poverty and contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy driving advancement in science technology and innovation.The installation function preceeded a graduation ceremony that saw 642 graduates awarded degrees in different disciplines.
