Winners, losers from NRM’s chaotic Local Council primaries
Thursday’s NRM primaries for district chairpersons, mayors, and direct councillors were marked by chaos, delays, and low voter turnout in several areas. Despite the setbacks, the exercise concluded successfully in most regions, with new political faces unseating some incumbents, while others retained the party flag in a nationwide contest involving 539 aspirants.
