Uganda's Cloud Computing grows 30%, unlocking digital potential
A recent survey on Uganda’s data landscape shows that cloud computing has grown by 30% over the past three years—a development sector players say requires critical attention. With research indicating that an individual generates at least one gigabyte of data daily, and only 33 companies currently storing their data in the country’s Tier III certified, carrier-neutral data center, the potential for expansion remains significant. According to David Egwell, the service manager at Raxio Data Centre, Uganda could reap substantial benefits from data if digitization is fully harnessed, with key sectors like agriculture and insurance offering major commercial opportunities.
