Stone quarry workers urge government to stay suspension
Some women engaged in stone quarrying at Kiyoora stone quarrying site in Kitumba sub-county, Kabale district are asking the government to halt a directive to suspend them from the site, saying that it is their only source of livelihood.
They argue that the government should leave them to engage in stone quarrying since they do not have any other sources of income.
According to the district chairperson Patrick Besigye the district has constantly vacated people from the quarry but in vain.
However, there are current efforts to find other means of survival for the stone quarry workers.
