ELECTION PETITION: Supreme court throws out Mabirizi recusal application
Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo has given reasons for why he refused to recuse himself from hearing the presidential election petition that had been filed by former Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi. The Chief Justice was responding to a petition by lawyer Male Mabirizi in which he cited inherent bias against Kyagulanyi given his previous relationship with President Yoweri Museveni who was the first respondent. And as Edward Muhumuza reports, Chief Justice Owiny Dollo described some of the grounds in the application as pedestrian, unfortunate and most unreasonable
