Africa challenged to safeguard indigenous foods
The first-ever Pan African Chefs gathering and policy convening has kicked off in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, with a challenge to African countries to champion the promotion of policies that safeguard indigenous food varieties. The three-day event, hosted by the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), has attracted over 100 chefs from across the continent and aims to champion indigenous cuisine and food sovereignty in Africa.
