UCCFS urges support, plans credit bureau for SACCOs
Leaders under the Uganda Central Cooperative Financial Services (UCCFS) are urging the government to increase financial support to the savings and credit cooperative sector, citing its vital role in promoting financial inclusion for the unbanked. Speaking during the organization’s annual general meeting, representing over 750 SACCOs nationwide, UCCFS Executive Director Patrick Bakunda announced plans to introduce a credit reference bureau to help SACCOs manage financial risk and strengthen lending practices.
