UBOS registers sharp rise in food prices to 1.9%
The Uganda Bureau of statistics says Inflation for the 12 months to March 2022 increased to 3.7%, up from 3.2 % registered in February 2022. The statistic agency in it’s consumer price index update, also noted the increase was as a result of the rise in prices of dome key household items and transport among others. Monthly inflation also picked 0.8% compared to a 1.0% rise registered in the previous month attributed to increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages inflation.
