What is government's relief plan for the COVID-19 lockdown? | ON THE SPOT
The government has finally thrashed out the details of their relief aid package to the vulnerable. The 53 billion shillings plan intends to give 100,000 shillings to each vulnerable person through Mobile Money and reach about 2.4 million people most affected by the lockdown. But without work for large sections of the population and strained funding to small businesses where majority workers are, the opposition is questioning the efficacy of the relief plan and by extension the lockdown.
