Refugee-led organisation ‘Planning for Tomorrow’ marks 18 years of transforming lives in Kyangwali
An organization supporting refugees in Kyangwali Refugee Camp, Kikuube District, is celebrating its 18th anniversary, earning widespread praise from beneficiaries who describe it as a lifeline.
The centre, called ‘Planning for Tomorrow’, is a refugee-led organization founded in 2007. Over the years, it has empowered more than 30,000 refugees with practical vocational skills.
According to Bienvenu Byamungu, Co-Founder and Global Director of Planning for Tomorrow, the organization offers training in tailoring, carpentry and joinery, bakery, and hairdressing. Graduates are also provided with startup capital to support their journey into self-employment and economic independence.
