Government pledges partnership with civil society to combat hunger in Northern Uganda
The central government has announced its readiness to partner with civil society organizations to strengthen efforts aimed at fighting hunger in Northern Uganda.
The pledge was made by the State Minister for Northern Uganda, Kenneth Omona, during a meeting with Global Board Members of The Hunger Project.
According to Irene Naikaali Ssentongo, Country Director of The Hunger Project Uganda, the region is still recovering from over three decades of civil conflict, humanitarian crises, and social fragility—factors that have contributed to persistent poverty and poor humanitarian indicators.
The partnership aims to promote self-reliance and sustainable development among local communities in the region.
