Operation Shujaa rescues 500 abductees, kills 100 ADF fighters
An estimated 500 abductees have been rescued in the last four months under Operation Shujaa in the DRC by the joint forces of the DR Congo army and the UPDF, while 100 ADF fighters have been killed. According to Operation Shujaa commander, Maj. Gen. Richard Okello, despite spending three years in the jungles of the DR Congo fighting ADF rebels, the rebel group remains a security threat not just to Uganda but to the entire region.
