Hotel Africana founder Bulaimu Mukasa Kibirige loses battle to cancer
Ugandan hotel magnate Dr Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige has died. Mr Kibirige who is also known as BMK is said to have died on Friday in Nairobi, Kenya where he was being attended to after a period of illness. According to a family member, Eng Mubarak Ngobya, he was last able to speak to Mr Kibirige at around 5:30am. Less than an hour later, the businessman, who had been suffering from several ailments, was pronounced dead. Popular among his multiple business establishments is Hotel Africana and the BMK Group. Eng Ngobya added that the family is now in advanced arrangements to have the entrepreneur's body transported back from Nairobi to his ancestral village in Nkoowe, Wakiso District in central Uganda.' Born on 2nd October, 1953, Dr Kibirige was known to support several budding business organizations, including youths seeking to join the business sector. In addition to the hotel, BMK had invested in real estate, construction equipment, motorcycle distributorships and foreign exchange bureaus across East and Central Africa.
