Fort Portal introduces affordable technology to improve sanitation services
Fort Portal leaders have welcomed the introduction of new cleaning technology in the area that makes it cheaper to empty ablutions. Known as Gulper technology, it will help empty latrines instead of constructing new ones, which is expensive. Emptiers, or manual scavengers, are being trained on how to operate the technology and will provide the cleaning service at a subsidized cost.
