Borderline Lcs warn non nationals seeking IDs
Security personnel in Bundibugyo have warned LCI chairpersons against recommending non-Ugandans for national IDs in the ongoing renewal and update of IDs.
Bundibugyo, being a border district with DR Congo, is prone to receiving Congolese nationals crossing over into Uganda. According to John Mugabirwe, the Bundibugyo Resident District Commissioner, several nationals crossing into Uganda are interested in securing Uganda’s national IDs to access free services on the Uganda side.
