Indian faith leader Jayramgiri Bapu visits Uganda
Indian faith leader Jayramgiri Bapu has arrived in Uganda for a five-day visit aimed at promoting cattle-related trade and fostering collaboration between Uganda and India. Bapu is the 14th successor of a 900-year-old temple in Gujarat, India.
Speaking on his behalf, Miraj stated that the visit is intended to strengthen trade relations between the two countries. The head of religious affairs in the State House, Rev. Canon Mwesigye, said the visit will enhance cooperation and partnership in tourism. He added that, given the cultural significance of cattle, Bapu hopes to support the success of Ugandan farmers.
His visit comes during the week of the Uganda Martyrs celebrations, slated for June 3rd. During his stay, Bapu also offered prayers for peace.
