ORGANIC FARMING: France commits 1.5m Euros for small scale farmers
Uganda has joined Morocco and Tanzania and in a continental formation of a pilot project aimed that seeks to increase the production, marketing guarantee quality to consumers as well as improving the regulatory environment on organic agriculture. The 3 years and a half: Institutional Innovations in Organic Agriculture project which will be implemented by the African Organic Network will implement the activities across the value chains at a value of Euro 1.5 Million, through the French Development Agency. Moses Okurut, the Chief Executive Officer of the African Organic Network, says each country will develop cluster zones, under which farmers will produce for domestic and the export market.
