Budgetary allocation for oil seed funding increased
The government will next financial year increase oil seed funding to 13 billion shillings from 9 billion shillings this financial year. With the increase in demand for subsidized seed for sunflower and soya beans aimed at increasing the local production of vegetable oil, analysts warn that even this increment is far from enough. Uganda loses over 30 million dollars annually to the importation of vegetable oil.
