EU commits ugx 104b to border region development
A 25-million-euro investment from the European Union, equivalent to 104 billion Ugandan shilling,s is set to transform the Uganda–DR Congo border region. The four-year Peaceful and Resilient Borderlands Programme aims to turn decades of conflict into a future of stability, increased trade, and shared prosperity. According to Jakob Houshofer, the EU initiative will boost cross-border cooperation and directly improve the livelihoods of more than 700,000 people.
