Understanding how pregnant learners can cope
During the two year closure of schools, thousands of girls ended up pregnant and some of these are yet to return to school. Following this development, the Ministry of Education and Sports introduced guidelines, which require a learner to take mandatory leave when she turns three months pregnant. The policy also requires the responsible male learner to be sent home for the time, she is pregnant. However, we look at the applicability of these guidelines.
