Two parish chiefs remanded over theft and extortion charges
Two parish chiefs have been remanded by Masaka Deputy Chief Magistrate Joshua Twongyeire after being charged with theft and neglect of duty. The prosecution alleges that John Rogers Mutebi, the parish chief of Bukibonga Parish, extorted Shs 50,000 from Denis Ssekabira, a member of the Bukibonga Parish Sacco, while Joseph Bbaale, the parish chief of Makonzi Parish, stole Shs 950,000 from Geoffrey Mukasa, a member of the Makonzi PDM Sacco in Bukakata sub-county, Masaka rural district.
