Travel ban to affect clubfoot patients - Health workers
In the wake of a second wave of COVID-19 that has seen infections rise exponentially in Uganda, the President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa called for restrictions on public transport curtailing inter-district travel for 42 days as one of the measures to stop the continued spread of the coronavirus disease. This directive has caused immense fear among orthopaedic health workers at Fort Portal regional referral hospital who argue that clubfoot managed cases are likely to reoccur due to a marked failure to embark on routine visits by the clients who travel from the ten districts of the Rwenzori sub-region.
