Small, medium enterprises to wait a bit longer for stimulus package
Small and Medium enterprises affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will have to wait a bit longer for the government and banks to reach a decision on a direct stimulus package for them. Allan Ssenyondwa of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda says the two parties are still discussing who should benefit from the fund in a manner that would allow banks to recover the money from the borrowers. The package which was announced by the president at the end of the second lockdown in July targets at least 300,000 small and medium businesses.
