Security tightened for Martyrs' Day Celebrations at Namugongo
Security has been beefed up at Namugongo and surrounding areas as the Monday Martyrs' Day celebrations draw closer. This follows an increase in the number of pilgrims, the business community, and tourists arriving and accessing both sites. People who spent the night inside the Martyrs' shrine were taken out for a security sweep in the morning and subjected to thorough checks. Uniformed and non-uniformed security personnel are manning the entry and exit points to ensure maximum security, as relayed by Steven Mbidde.
