Prime Minister launches think tank for government
Ministers and senior technocrats in government have today clashed with the Finance minister Matia Kasaija over his failure to allocate them funds to enable them monitor government programs and curb excessive expenditures in government. The minister for the presidency Esther Mbayo has accused Matia Kasaija of attempting to disassociate himself from the agreed position in cabinet to allocate 11 billion shillings to monitor government programs. This was during the launch of a government think tank named APEX Platform comprising of key government institutions, the prime ministers office, Ministry of Finance , office of the president and the National planning authority as a new way of strengthening oversight role and improving service delivery.
