NRM Electoral Chair Tanga Odoi resists pressure over candidate clearance
The Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission, Tanga Odoi, says he is not ready to succumb to pressure from various party supporters who have started blackmailing him, claiming he has cleared some people to express interest in various electoral posts in the party during the ongoing nominations. Odoi says nobody, not even President Museveni, the party chairman, can influence his decision to clear candidates who do not qualify. He, however, says all those who are dissatisfied can file petitions, which will be considered. Steven Mbidde spoke to Odoi earlier today.
