Nationwide ID renewal and registration kicks off
The renewal of expired national identity cards and registration of Ugandans acquiring them for the first time has kicked off across the country. NIRA officials say the exercise will be carried out at the parish level. Those who want to make changes to the particulars of their expired IDs will pay a specified fee, while those registering for the first time will do so free of charge.
