Ministers call for arrests of Nakaloke officials
The Minister for local government Raphael Magyezi and the Minister of State in charge of Economic Monitoring, Peter Ogwang directed the transfer of Police Officer of Nakaloke station and an investigation into the former Chief Administrative Officer in Mbale among others, over illegal transactions they are engaged in. The officials are reportedly illegally allocated plots on over 40 acres of public land in Nakaloke town council Northern city division. Others said to be involved in the saga include the former town clerk of Nakaloke town council Aron Mulyanyuma Ayeta, who is now Mbale city physical planner Mbale city. The ministers, who are looking at government projects there also want the area land board to be suspended. The 40 acres under question house the police post, health centre 3, magistrate court 2, town council, youth centre and a football pitch.
