Janet Museveni urges support for new secondary school curriculum
The First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni, who also serves as Minister of Education, is calling on teachers and parents to embrace the new secondary school curriculum, which aims to make learners more employable and better prepared to meet the demands of the modern world.
In a speech delivered by Rushenyi County MP, Ms. Naome Kabasharira, at Rwentobo in Ntungamo District, Janet Museveni emphasized that schools should create greater awareness about the benefits of the new education system, as it will better equip young people for life and work.
The Education Minister also urged parents to engage positively with their children to identify their weaknesses early and help prevent the development of vices such as drug and substance abuse, alcoholism, and sexual immorality. She encouraged parents to seek timely mental health counseling services if early warning signs are detected.
