AGRIBUSINESS MARKET SCIENTISTS: USD 35bn herbal export potential lying idle
Uganda could be losing an estimated 35bn dollars in annual exports of herbal products as a result of little or no investment in herbal research. Dr Edward Kazeire, a Natural Medicine Scientist and diet-therapist, says Uganda’s potential to achieve these targets is undoubted given the exponential growth of the global herbal sector with sales valued at USD 98BN in 2020 and seen to jump $360BN in 7 years time.
