UBL defied COVID-19 to pay UGX 420bn in taxes in 2020
Beer maker Uganda breweries says a strong local raw material supply chain for inputs majorly from the agricultural sector helped the brewer survive the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic where majority of the companies were hard hit, to pay 420BN shillings in government coffers. Alvin Mbugua says without sufficient supplies for grain such as sorghum, maize, cassava and barley the situation would have been worse.
