Role of cultural institutions amid moral conundrums |Morning At NTV
Ugandan kingdoms are ancient institutions that trace their establishment back to Bunyoro-Kitara, the first kingdom. The Bunyoro-Kitara kingdom was a cattle-based economy ruled by the cattle-keeping Babito aristocracy (ca. 1200-1600). However, with the changing dynamics of political democracy in Uganda, are cultural institutions surviving in this arena? Steven Masiga, the spokesperson for Inzuyamasaba, also known as the Bugisu cultural institution and the Director of Makerere University's Mbale branch, and Francis Peter Ojede, the Executive Director of the Uganda National Cultural Centre, will discuss this subject.
