Where did UGX 4 trillion of COVID-19 money go? | ON THE SPOT
The Ugandan government has now poured over 4 trillion shillings in its response to the COVID19 pandemic.
But after two years of that response, the country is still woefully unprepared to deal with rising COVID19 cases often resorting to hard lockdowns and tight curfew restrictions.
With hardly a million vaccinated Ugandans, the debate is slowly shifting from the lockdown response to that of increasing vaccinations but to do that the government must beat global and local supply chains, and budget better.
NTV visits this debate using figures, and revelations from a newly tabled parliament report into the government response to COVID19.
On the Spot was Dan Kimosho, the deputy chair of that committee and Dr Kabanda, a legislator, member of the committee and qualified medical doctor.
