Report: UHRC takes too long to hear complaints
The Uganda Law Society has decried the persistent delays in the hearing and determination of complaints filed at the Uganda Human Rights Commission. According to the lawyers' society, the backlog of cases is causing delays, with numerous cases pending for extended periods, which hinders the delivery of justice. They added that the Uganda Human Rights Commission should operate with full independence, free from external influences. The Uganda Law Society was presenting its quarterly rule of law report.
