Regional ministers meet over how to curb FGM
Delegates attending a meeting to discuss Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) have recommended that additional resources be directed to intensify its elimination. The United Nations Population Fund said the COVID-19 lockdown led to a resurgence of FGM across borders in the region as movement for surveillance personnel was hard. The resolution, which brings new measures to tackle FGM was reached at the 3rd inter-ministerial meeting held in Kampala.
