Pope Francis launches a 2- year synod for the church
The catholic church in Uganda has officially kicked off a two-year synod in which bishops across the country are set to hold wide consultations with the faithful. The main objective of the two-year synod is to come up with a consensus on how the church can rely more fully on a consultation-and-discussion process to become more open in its governance. Findings from this two-year consultation process will be presented in the church’s general assembly that will be chaired by Pope Francis in 2023.
