Gulu war victims demand exhumation and reburial of relatives' remains
Families of people who were killed by Thomas Kwoyelo, the former commander of the Lord's Resistance Army rebel group, are demanding a court order for the exhumation of their relatives' remains, whose graves were exhibited in court to convict the ex-rebel. The families say that the remains of dozens of their relatives are still in former Internally Displaced Persons camps in Pabbo and Pagak in Amuru District. The International Crimes Division of the High Court had exhibited several graves of the victims of attacks on Pagak and Pabbo IDP camps and directed that none of them should be exhumed. They want the court to order and facilitate the exhumation, identification, and reburial of the remains.
