EALA MPs boycott sitting due to absence of ministers
Members of the East African Legislative assembly have boycotted the sittings today due to the absence of the ministers. When the assembly convened this afternoon, there was no minister on the front bench or online as required by the rules of procedure. Debate about this absence ensued, with legislators accusing the ministers of deliberately frustrating the assembly.
