Security agencies caution the media on election coverage
Security agencies and media owners have reached an understanding over the manner in which security officers ought to engage with media organisations if they are suspected to have broken the law or breached established protocols. The understanding followed an engagement between media owners and security agencies at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence offices. The engagement was meant to iron out potential areas of conflict and misunderstanding between the media and security agencies during the election period. While addressing the media owners, government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo also cautioned media houses against hosting individuals wearing what was gazetted as attire belonging to the army.
