Residents protest poor state of roads in Adjumani
Residents and motorists in Adjumani District are distressed by the delayed construction of a modern bridge at the Laropi-Moyo landing sites, which they say is affecting mobility and international trade. Today, traffic along the Adjumani-Moyo road via Laropi was brought to a standstill after the ferry at Laropi broke down. As a result, traffic was diverted to the alternative ferry at Sinyanya-Obongi. However, the diversion caused inconvenience to many travelers, particularly those heading to Moyo and South Sudan. Motorists expressed frustration over the poor state of the road from Sinyanya to Obongi. Some vehicles, including a Zawadi Bus Company bus carrying passengers from Adjumani to Arua, got stuck for hours in one of the treacherous spots.
