Former RDCs and RCCs threaten to join Opposition over unmet promises
Former Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), under their umbrella body, the Former RDCs and RCCs Association, have threatened to leave the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and join opposition parties due to the failure to meet with the president. This came after several attempts to meet the president regarding their promised bailout money were in vain. According to the leaders of the Association, after the 2021 general elections, they were dropped as RDCs and RCCs without clear explanation, which they say was unfair, despite having served diligently.
